Andrew Wiggins wants a max deal and the Timberwolves want to give him one, so it’s just a matter of particulars now.
Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor told the StarTribune.com the Timberwolves are in the early stages of discussions with Wiggins’ agent on the particulars of the contract and he is optimistic the deal will get done.
Of course, Lakers Nation is already on the bandwagon. An estimated 2.6 million viewed the Instagram video of his introduction prior to his NBA Summer League debut. The NBA revealed Wednesday it was the league’s sixth-most watched post ever on the social media platform. After witnessing Lonzo tear it up in Las Vegas, even his staunchest critics might have to admit he’s going to be something special. He averaged 16.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.5 steals and threw in one block per game on the way to earning MVP honors and leading the Lakers to the championship.
However, it was his 9.3 assists per contest, a Summer League record, that was his most eye-popping stat. More than the passes that led directly to buckets, Lonzo’s utter selflessness and court vision (think how a great quarterback such as Aaron Rodgers throws receivers open) is what really wowed both spectators and commentators alike.
Laker Film Room, an outlet dedicated to the study of Lakers basketball, put together a masterful highlight reel of every pass Lonzo made during summer league that gave his team an advantage. Check it out.
