Searching for the 2017 NBA Draft order and results without all that annoying analysis? You’ve come to the right place.
Below is the draft order for Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2017 NBA Draft, which will be updated with draft results featuring pick number, team, player and position, minus the analysis and draft grades. Of course, if you would like our NBA experts to tell you how smart (or stupid) your team’s picks were, we’ll have you covered with our pick-by-pick analysis for Round 1, and we’ll have our Draft Grades on Friday to determine the winners and losers.
In proposing change to one-and-done rule, NBA’s Adam Silver employs ‘alternative facts’
The most disappointing aspect of NBA commissioner Adam Silver’s pronouncements regarding his reconsideration of league’s age limit for entering the player draft is that he is so astoundingly wrong on basic facts. It’s as if the truth-is-optional culture has invaded the league headquarters at 645 Fifth Avenue.
This year the projection is that we’re going to have 20 one-and-done players coming, actually being drafted this year, Silver said Thursday at his state-of-the-NBA address. When we first changed the minimum age from 18 to 19, the following year — in 2006 — we had two one-and-done players.
That’s the kind of linguistic gymnastics we’ve come to expect from gentlemen in suits speaking to the broader public in this calendar year, but not previously from the NBA commish.
