Sam Bradford on schedule, set to do more at minicamp

The Cardinals have a three-day minicamp next week and it looks like they will drop the curtain on their offseason program by giving quarterback Sam Bradford more to do.

Bradford has been limited over the last couple of months as the team tries to do whatever it can to make sure that his oft-injured knee doesn’t get overworked at this point in the calendar. On Tuesday, head coach Steve Wilks said that the process has gone well.

I do think anyone trying to set up a program from scratch the way Belichick has in today’s NFL would have a really hard time. In fact, I’m not sure it would work at all anymore. But thanks to his results, Belichick’s methods are grandfathered in to a different world. And as is the case with anything demanding and difficult, those who get results from it will come to terms with it, and those who don’t (like Marsh) will rail against it. Five, I still think the Patriots win 12 games, and that Brady will be an MVP candidate and Gronkowski will be the best tight end in football.

He not only is healthy again, but Carson has added 10 pounds, up to 227, this offseason.

He hasn’t missed one snap of anything, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said, via Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times. He’s just looked so fit and just so cut and quick and explosive and all of that. He’s the guy that just stood out in that regard.

He’s absolutely full steam. He has just had a great offseason. He was really frustrated about not being able to finish up last year, and he put it to work. He did it. I’m excited to see how he goes. He’s going to play really good for us when we get back.

Penny, Carson, C.J. Prosise and J.D. McKissic are among the running backs fighting for playing time and touches. If the Seahawks can avoid injuries at the position, they should average more than the league-worst 3.3 yards per carry they had last season.
